Do Men Ever Stop Ejaculating?

There’s a common myth that men eventually reach an age where they naturally stop ejaculating. The truth? There’s no set age when men stop. In reality, many men can continue to ejaculate well into their later years—some even into their 80s or beyond—provided they remain sexually active and in relatively good health.

That said, aging does bring changes. Testosterone levels gradually decline, and it may take longer to achieve arousal or reach orgasm. Some men notice a decrease in ejaculate volume or less forceful ejaculation. These shifts are normal and vary widely from person to person. However, they don’t necessarily mean sexual function has ended.

It’s also important to note that some men may experience difficulty with ejaculation earlier in life due to medical conditions, medications, stress, or psychological factors. On the flip side, others remain fully capable of ejaculation and orgasm late into life. Sperm production may slow, but it rarely stops completely until very advanced age—if at all.

Lifestyle plays a big role too. Regular exercise, a balanced diet, managing stress, and staying connected emotionally with a partner can support sexual health across the lifespan. Even erectile dysfunction or delayed ejaculation, which can occur with age, are often treatable.

Ultimately, sexuality doesn’t come with a strict expiration date. While the mechanics may evolve over time, the capacity for intimacy and orgasm often remains. Every man’s experience is different—there’s no “normal” timeline. What matters most is listening to your body, staying informed, and talking openly with a healthcare provider about any concerns.
