Bradman batted with absolute fluency throughout the day, treating the English bowling attack with a mix of technical brilliance and relentless aggression. After reaching his century before lunch, he accelerated even further in the afternoon session, piling on another hundred runs between lunch and tea.

When stumps were drawn, Bradman was walking off the field unbeaten on 309 runs. He remains the only Test player in history to score a triple century in a single day's play. The following day, he pushed his total to 334, breaking Andy Sandham's previous world record of 325 and cementing his status as one of the greatest athletes of all time.
