Military history is filled with experimental designs that never made it to the battlefield, and the T95 gun motor carriage is a prime example of this. Developed during the final stages of World War II, this massive vehicle was built to crack heavily fortified positions like the Siegfried Line with its powerful 105mm gun.

Despite its impressive armor and firepower, the T95 never officially entered military service. As testing and evaluation dragged on, the landscape of armored warfare shifted rapidly. The United States military quickly realized that turretless designs were increasingly obsolete compared to conventional heavy tanks.

Ultimately, development of the T95 was sidelined because projects like the T29 and T30 heavy tanks offered a more practical solution. These newer vehicles successfully mounted the exact same heavy-caliber gun inside a fully rotating turret, combining the firepower of the T95 with the tactical flexibility of a traditional turreted design.
