Can You Remove Asbestos from the Lungs?

Once asbestos fibers are inhaled, they can become permanently embedded in lung tissue. There is no known medical method to remove these fibers from the lungs after exposure. The body’s natural defenses struggle to break down or expel asbestos because the fibers are both microscopic and highly resistant to degradation.
