White vinegar is often praised as a natural cleaning agent and a health tonic, touted for its supposed detoxifying and weight-loss benefits. But despite its popularity, regular or excessive use—especially when consumed—can carry some overlooked risks.
One of the most concerning downsides is its impact on internal organs. Research suggests that vinegar, when consumed frequently, may place stress on the liver and kidneys, organs responsible for filtering toxins. High acidity levels can overwork these systems, particularly in sensitive individuals or those with pre-existing conditions.
Moreover, vinegar’s corrosive nature makes it an irritant to the central nervous system when ingested in large amounts. Reports have linked chronic vinegar intake to neurological discomfort, including headaches and dizziness, particularly in people with sensitive constitutions.
