Still, in uncontrolled environments—like improperly canned food—Clostridium botulinum can thrive and produce the toxin, leading to botulism, a rare but serious illness. Thankfully, cases are uncommon and antitoxins exist, but the sheer potency of this natural compound remains unmatched. In the world of toxins, botulinum reigns supreme—not because of its size, but because of its terrifying efficiency.
