How Evaporation Works
Evaporation is a fascinating phase change where a liquid turns into a gas, and it all comes down to heat and movement. When you heat a liquid, its molecules absorb thermal energy and transform it into kinetic energy.
As this energy builds up, the molecules start vibrating much faster and pushing further apart from one another. This sudden surge in activity weakens the forces holding the liquid together. Once they break free, the molecules escape into the air as a gas, which is why puddles dry up in the sun or hot soup gives off steam.
