When it comes to openly mocked religions, Pastafarianism—also known as the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster—stands out as the most famous example. Henderson’s satirical open letter argued that if religiously inspired theories like creationism were to be included in science classes, then so should the idea that the universe was created by a Flying Spaghetti Monster.
