Understanding Narcissistic Abuse

Narcissistic abuse is a specialized form of emotional and psychological mistreatment typically carried out by individuals who exhibit high levels of narcissistic traits or have Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD). This type of behavior relies heavily on manipulation, lack of empathy, and a constant need for control over others.

Common tactics associated with this behavior include gaslighting (making someone doubt their own perception of reality), love-bombing (overwhelming someone with affection early on to gain trust), constant criticism, and shifting blame onto the victim. Over time, these actions can heavily impact a person's self-esteem and emotional well-being.

If you or someone you know is experiencing emotional distress or unhealthy relationship dynamics, support and resources are available through school counselors, trusted adults, or confidential helplines.
