Many Muslim women wonder if they can pray while wearing nail polish or acrylic nails. The answer lies in the requirements of wuḍū', the ritual purification necessary before prayer. However, scholars emphasize that even with such products, one must ensure water truly reaches the nails during washing—just the claim of permeability isn’t enough without verification.

If you're wearing anything that forms a barrier—whether it's polish, acrylics, or even tight bandages over the nails—it's best to remove them before performing wuḍū'.
