Will I get charged for calling an 0800 number?

Are 0800 numbers free to call?

If you're wondering whether you'll get charged for calling an 0800 number, the good news is no—calls to numbers starting with 0800 and 0808 are completely free whether you're calling from a landline or a mobile phone.

However, it's worth keeping in mind that other prefix numbers can be a bit of a trap. If you end up dialing numbers like 0844, 0845, 0870, or 0871, you'll usually face much higher charges on your bill, regardless of what kind of phone you use.
