District Creation Process
The authority to create new districts, alter existing ones, or abolish them rests entirely with state governments. This administrative power ensures that local governance can adapt to growing populations and regional development needs.
States can implement these changes through two primary methods:
Legislative Action: Passing a dedicated law or resolution directly within the State Assembly.
Executive Route: Issuing an official notification published in the state's official gazette.
Many state administrations prefer the executive route because it allows for a quicker and more streamlined administrative process compared to passing a formal bill through the legislature.
