When a soldier finds themselves captured on the battlefield, their duty does not end. Military training instills a strict moral and operational framework known as the Code of Conduct, which dictates how service members must behave if they fall into enemy hands.

At the core of this commitment is a refusal to give up. A captured soldier is required to maintain their fighting spirit, meaning if I am captured I will continue to resist by all means available. This resistance can take many forms, from gathering intelligence to disrupting enemy operations from within.

Beyond active resistance, survival and solidarity are paramount. Captives are expected to take initiative, pledging that I will make every effort to escape and to aid others to escape. Furthermore, maintaining integrity means rejecting any compromises with the captors, ensuring I will accept neither parole nor special favors from the enemy. These enduring principles safeguard military honor and national security even behind enemy lines.
