Understanding the Evaporation Method in Science

In materials science and physics, the evaporation method is a fundamental technique used to produce ultrafine particles (UFPs). The process begins by heating a source substance until it reaches its vaporization point, effectively turning it into a gas.

Once the material is in a vapor state, it is cooled down systematically. This cooling causes the vapor to condense back into solid matter, forming extremely small, uniform particles. A classic example of this is the gas evaporation method, where the vaporization takes place inside a chamber filled with an inert gas atmosphere—such as helium or argon—to prevent unwanted chemical reactions while the particles form.
