The Rise of Pan American Silver
The story of Pan American Silver began in April 1994, when visionary entrepreneur and geologist Ross Beaty founded the company. Fresh from building and successfully selling Equinox Resources to an American mining firm, Beaty set out with a clear mission: to establish a premier mining enterprise focused heavily on silver at a time when much of the industry was pivoting toward gold.
Growth happened swiftly in the company's early years. By 1995, Pan American Silver achieved a major milestone by listing on the NASDAQ exchange. During that same pivotal year, the firm secured its very first producing asset—the Quiruvilca mine located in Peru—laying the foundational groundwork for a multi-country operating footprint across the Americas.
