Intel Core i5 vs i7 for Gaming

The main difference between the two processors is that an i7 features more cores and Hyper-Threading, which makes it much better for heavy multitasking, video editing, and productivity workflows.

However, an i5 is typically just as fast in most video games. This is because the majority of games rely heavily on individual core speed (clock frequency) rather than total core count.

If your primary focus is pure gaming, the extra cores found in an i7 processor will rarely produce a meaningful or noticeable difference in your frame rates.
