Common Football Mistakes to Avoid

One of the biggest blunders players make on the pitch is poor movement off the ball. Failing to find open space makes it nearly impossible for your teammates to pick you out with a pass.

Too often, inexperienced players hide standing directly behind defenders. When you park yourself in a defender's blind spot or shadow, you essentially take yourself out of the game. Your teammates cannot force a pass to you without risking an easy interception.

To improve your game, you need to actively create passing lanes. This means scanning the field, anticipating where space will open up, and making sharp, decisive runs. If you stay static and make it easy for the opposition to mark you, you will quickly find yourself starved of possession—and eventually, watching the match from the bench.
